Mum and dad having dinner

Me and Lotta left Bali a couple of days earlier to go back home for the dogs and also I was working. My parents stayed some extra days and just relaxed in the hotel.

Landing in Hong Kong

Last evening the trip continued to Hong Kong where I’m holding a training and have customer meetings. I’m going to be here all week for this and will continue to Kuala Lumpur on Sunday since I have a meeting there on Monday.

Hong Kong is extremely hectic as usual but it’s hard not to like the city with it’s skyscrapers, nice weather and good places for camera and electronic shopping.

Meeting Dan in Singapore

Dan and me during transfer at Changi Airport in Singapore

A funny thing happened this week. I was going on a roadshow to Taipei, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur and Dan was going to Singapore and we realized that my transfer to Taipei landed at the same time. So, we managed to get a quick coffee together before I had to board my onwards flight to Taipei. The world is small when you meet your Swedish friends in Singapore instead of Stockholm.

Taipei

Landed in Taipei around lunchtime. Only staying to tomorrow evening when it’s time to go to Hong Kong, but at least there are some time to prepare for tomorrows meetings. Also managed to have dinner in Taipei 101.

Back to Bangladesh

Not the best work environment

It’s time to go back to Bangladesh for the third time to hold a series of customer workshop. Last time I was there I ended up staying a extra day due to a faulty airplane. This time I’m supposed to be there for 4 days together with Magnus. We also decided not to stay inside central Dhaka which can be fairly busy (especially the traffic is crazy). So, this time we went for Radisson SAS which is located between our office and the customers office.

Hunting in the morning

About to leave back to Dubai in the afternoon

Since I’m leaving back to Dubai today I tried to get as much as possible done. So at six o’clock I got on the train to Norrköping where my brother picked me up to go hunting. Even though most of the animals are out of season you can still hunt wild bore, hare and foxes. Unfortunately we didn’t get anything but at least we had a nice day. At two o’clock my brother gave me a ride back to Norrköping so that I could get the train back to Stockholm again and then directly jump on Arlanda expressen out to Arlanda where I was flying back to Dubai over Munich. On the way back to Stockholm the snow started falling and when I finally got on the flight there had fallen quite a bit of snow.

So, getting up at five, going 250 km for some hunting and nature, back to Stockholm to continue to Dubai and landing in 25 degrees heat 24 hours after getting up this morning I was a bit tired, but at least I used the time to the fullest.

Johannesburg, South Africa

Feels like the wild west when they ask if you carry a gun before a meeting...

Barbwire or electric fencing on every house

So, after being back in Dubai for 12 hours it was time to take the taxi to the airport to go to Johannesburg, South Africa. After a eight hour flight and some problems with the hotel booking I was able to go to sleep fairly late. The next day was filled with customer presentations so not much time to do anything (you wouldn’t go out anyway…).

When I arrived back at the hotel the next day the door to the room next to mine was broken up with a crowbar… Not the best feeling of security.

As usual there was no time to see anything besides the usual trip between the hotel and the office, but having traveled a lot the last weeks I was happily surprised when I was able to get a earlier flight home so that I landed Thursday night rather than Friday morning. There has been a lot of 6 day workweeks the over the last year.

Passing by the shop-windows at NK on my way down to the central station to take Arlanda expressen to Arlanda to go back to Dubai, I got reminded that Christmas is closing in. The yearly redressing had been unveiled and December was just around the corner.

Today it was time to go to Sweden again for a workshop. Thankfully the trip to Sweden was over Munich and not Frankfurt which is a pain to fly over. So, when I finally got on board the flight from Munich to Stockholm I fell asleep immediately and woke up about 2 hours later when the pilot announced that we where going in for landing. Looking out of the window I didn’t recognize the areas around Stockholm which worried me a bit. It became even more worrying when I saw a “Munich Airport sign” going down for landing. The reason was that halfway to Sweden there was a engine problem and they decided to turn around…
